| Project Scope: |
Contract C1 is located in New Haven and East Haven and consists of the reconstruction of approximately 2,500 meters (1.6 miles) of I-95 from the western project limit at the New Haven/East Haven town line on Frontage Road to the eastern project limit at the Lake Saltonstall Bridge in East Haven. The East Haven Frontage Road system will be realigned to accommodate the expansion of I-95 to 3 lanes. The I-95 bridge over Route 1/AMTRAK will be replaced. Superstructure replacement and widening will take place on the Laurel Street Bridge and I-95 over North High Street. The Tuttle Brook culvert will be replaced. The Farm River culvert will be extended. North High Street will be widened to accommodate a turning lane onto the I-95 Northbound onramp. The Oakley Street/Main Street intersection will be realigned and a cul-de-sac will be established at Minott Street. Full shoulders, a new median barrier, drainage, signing, and lighting will be provided throughout the project. |
