Contract C2 encompasses approximately 1.0 mile (1500 meters) of I-95 in the City of New Haven. In both directions, full shoulders and a new median barrier will be constructed and new drainage, signing, and lighting will be installed.

Details of the contract are as follows:

  1. Widening I-95: I-95 will be reconstructed and widened from the Woodward/Stiles Interchange to the New Haven/East Haven town line.

  2. New Woodward/Stiles Interchange: A new Woodward/Stiles interchange will be constructed, accessible from a connector road originating at Waterfront Street and extending to the Fulton Terrace on-ramp. As part of the interchange, the Woodward Street on-ramp bridge will be replaced.

  3. Four Lanes to the Frontage Roads: Between the new Woodward/Stiles interchange and the frontage roads, I-95 will consist of four lanes in each direction.

  4. Woodward, Townsend, and Forbes Ave. Bridges: The Woodward, Townsend, and Forbes Avenue bridges and associated retaining walls will be replaced.

  5. Fulton Terrace Bridge: The Fulton Terrace Bridge will be replaced.

  6. Noise Barrier at Allen Place: A noise wall will be installed near Allen Place along the I-95 Northbound off-ramp to Woodward Avenue.
