PROGRAM GOALS

ConnDOT based the program's transportation and transit elements on their effectiveness in meeting regional and community goals. Specific goals throughout this section of I-95 between Interchange 46 (Sargent Drive in New Haven) and Interchange 54 (Cedar Street in Branford) include:

  • Enhanced access to and marketing of alternative transportation.

  • Construction of a new Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge to eliminate existing deficiencies and to meet modern standards.

  • Operational and safety improvements on I-95 to reduce abnormally high accident rates.

  • Capacity improvements along this section of I-95 to ease traffic congestion.
