ABOUT THE CORRIDOR
-- Neighborhoods and Towns--
Long Wharf | Downtown New Haven | Wooster Square | Towns of East Haven and Branford | The Annex

Towns of East Haven and Branford: The Towns of East Haven and Branford support commercial, industrial, residential, agricultural, and recreational land uses. The I-95 corridor in East Haven abuts a commercial strip and a residential area. At the East Haven/Branford town line, I-95 crosses Lake Saltonstall, part of the public water supply watershed, and passes Vaiuso's farm.

IMPACTS: I-95 was reconstructed and widened between the east shore of the Lake Saltonstall Bridge and Exit 54 (Cedar Street) in Branford. A third travel lane was installed in directions, as well as increased shoulder widths and a new median barrier. Todds Hill Road Bridge was replaced and the Cherry Hill Road Bridge was rehabilitated. Other improvements included two new retaining walls, three culverts, new drainage systems, signing, lighting and noise barrier walls as well as improvements to Cedar Street (Interchange 54) and a new commuter parking lot at Interchange 55.
